What is ADHD ?

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects one’s ability to pay attention, focus and control impulsive behaviours. Ayurveda believes that it happens due to imbalance in the Vata dosha, which governs movement and the nervous system. It is believed that a provoked Vata dosha leads to impulsivity, lack of focus and restlessness. ADHD naturally diagnosed in childhood, but its symptoms can continue into adulthood.

     ADHD Support Program

Kids with ADHD often face challenges with focus, impulse control, and hyperactive behavior, which can impact their academic performance, social interactions, and overall well-being. At Sree Prathama Ayurvedam, our ADHD support program offers a holistic and natural approach to manage these symptoms through the time-tested principles of Ayurveda.

Our ayurvedic program aim to restore balance in the body and mind, addressing the root causes of the condition rather than merely suppressing symptoms. It combines dietary modifications, therapies and other practices to promote calmness, concentration, and emotional regulation in children with ADHD.

Dr. Santhisree Bheesetti follows a 4-pillar protocol to help parents understand ADHD, its underlying causes, and how our integrated Ayurvedic treatments can address those root issues to improve the child’s cognitive, behavioral, and attentional development.

By adopting a comprehensive Ayurvedic approach, we strive to enhance the child’s overall well-being, enabling them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, while minimizing the need for conventional medication and its potential side effects.

    Our ADHD Support Program

    Consultation followed by Nadi Pariksha

The procedure begins with an initial assessment to monitor progress and make adjustments. We then perform an Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis (Nadi Pariksha) to identify imbalances in each child and select appropriate therapies.

Section 2: 4 Pillars of our ADHD Support Program

Based on the results of Nadi Pariksha, Dr Santhisree Bheesetti provides a comprehensive treatment plan based on the 4 pillars of the treatment program.

    Pillar 1: Panchakarma Treatment

Panchakarma is a set of detoxification procedures in Ayurveda aimed at eliminating deep-rooted toxins (ama) from the body. For children with ADHD, by removing accumulated toxins, it can help restore balance in the doshas and improve overall mental clarity and cognitive function.

Duration: 40 Days (as per the Doctor’s suggestion)

    Pillar 2: Internal Medication

For internal medication, we have in-house made Ayurvedic formulations tailored to each child’s condition. These herbal compounds aim to balance the doshas (biological energies) and address underlying imbalances contributing to autism symptoms. The specific internal medications will be prescribed based on the individual child’s needs as determined by our Ayurvedic practitioner.

Duration: 1-3 Year (Depends on the symptoms)

    Pillar 3: Dietary Modifications

While internal medicines and ayurvedic therapies are crucial, dietary modifications have an essential role in making a big difference in a kid’s overall health. We provide a diet chart including what to eat and avoid, based on the symptoms of the kid to provide them with proper nutrition.

    Pillar 4: Parent Support
